Michele Sliger is bringing John Miller in to Denver to speak at the September 12 EdTech Meetup. The EdTech meetup is primarily for teachers and focuses on how to incorporate technology and new teaching methods into their classrooms. John Miller presented at the Scrum Gathering in Atlanta earlier this year on how he's had success in bringing Scrum into the classroom in Arizona. Folks were very taken by his talk, and she wanted to bring him and his ideas to Denver's teachers.
Join us for a special evening with John Miller of Agile Schools. John will be flying in from Arizona to tell us in person all about Agile Methodology and how he has adapted this to schools, curriculum, and teachers. John has been a speaker at many conferences and will enlighten us all about how to scrum in all the right ways with our students and colleagues.
Come for an evening of fun and learn a perhaps transformative practice to think about your school, collaboration, leadership, and education.
John's blog may be found here.
An article reviewing John's recent talk in Atlanta can be found here.
Agenda:
As always, the evening will start with a time of networking, where beverages and light snacks are provided by your Ed Tech Meetup organizers. John will talk from 7-8pm, and we will have a networking time with any announcements from our members from 8-8:30.

Comment by Fred Clauss on September 21, 2012 at 11:18am I actually found this event on the EduTech group's meetup site and signed up there. It was a very interesting and inspiring presentation. I'm interested in the applications for Agile methodologies beyond IT in general, and this particular one appears very useful and timely for education. I'm interested in starting a pilot program like this in Denver. If anyone else is interested, please contact me at fred@clausshaus.com.
Comment by Yong Bakos on September 16, 2012 at 11:48am I showed up for this and the building was locked.
Same evening as PMI MileHi chapter; guess I will have to buy my own beer. :(
